* Praise for Requiem *
“Rich harmonic fabric … Glorious sounds,” The Commercial Record
Ron Hirsch’s body of work covers a broad range … from a song cycle/chamber opera to a requiem to piano solo works and a string quartet. His work has been performed in Chicago, Grand Rapids, MI, and New York City.
A more recent work, Adam's Song, is something quite different ... a music theater piece about growing up gay in a conservative home in rural America in the mid-80s before escaping to New York City and experiencing freedom as well as the AIDS epidemic in the 90s.
Most recently, he has returned to writing songs.
